Yotpo + Shopify integration
- Reviews
- Loyalty
Connecting Yotpo to Shopify comes down to three decisions: which data moves, which system owns it, and whether an existing connector is enough.
Describe your setup ↗What Yotpo is
Yotpo offers separate Shopify apps for product reviews, loyalty and referrals (formerly Swell), and more. They share customer data when used together.
How we would approach Yotpo with Shopify
We set up the parts you'll actually use. For reviews: request timing, widgets near the buying decision, and imports from your previous app. For loyalty: points rules that reward what you want more of, such as repeat orders, without discounting every order.
What the work involves
- Review requests timed to delivery
- Review widgets placed near price and add-to-cart
- Existing reviews imported and matched to products
- Loyalty rules checked against your margins
Ways to connect Yotpo and Shopify
Where these projects go wrong
- Loyalty points that work out to a permanent discount on every order.
- Two review apps running at once after a migration.
- Review structured data output by both the theme and the app.
Our experience
We haven't delivered a Yotpo project for a client yet. This page is how we would approach one, and we check access and platform limits before quoting.
Questions
- Should we use Yotpo for reviews and loyalty together?
- If you need both, one vendor keeps customer data in one place. If you only need reviews, a reviews-only app may be simpler.
Before we scope the work
- Which data or customer journey needs to connect, and which system owns it?
- What access, plan features or API permissions are available?
- Does an existing connector cover the requirement, including failures and updates?
- Who will maintain the connection, and how will you know it is working?
Send your current setup and one real example of the flow you need. We'll tell you whether it can be done and what it would take.
