Unlighthouse + Shopify integration
- Developer tools
Connecting Unlighthouse to Shopify comes down to three decisions: which data moves, which system owns it, and whether an existing connector is enough.
Describe your setup ↗What Unlighthouse is
Unlighthouse is an open-source tool that crawls a site and runs Google Lighthouse on every page, giving one report for performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO.
How we would approach Unlighthouse with Shopify
Single-page tests miss the template that's slow on 400 product pages. We run Unlighthouse across the store before a theme release and after it, group results by template, and fix what's worst across the most pages first.
What the work involves
- A site-wide scan before and after releases
- Results grouped by template (product, collection, page)
- Accessibility and SEO issues listed with the pages affected
- Fixes ranked by how many pages they improve
Ways to connect Unlighthouse and Shopify
Where these projects go wrong
- Treating lab scores as real-user experience.
- Scanning a preview theme with apps disabled and calling it the live result.
Our experience
We haven't delivered a Unlighthouse project for a client yet. This page is how we would approach one, and we check access and platform limits before quoting.
Questions
- Is a Lighthouse score enough?
- No. It's a lab test. Use it to find problems, and real-user data to confirm they matter.
Before we scope the work
- Which data or customer journey needs to connect, and which system owns it?
- What access, plan features or API permissions are available?
- Does an existing connector cover the requirement, including failures and updates?
- Who will maintain the connection, and how will you know it is working?
Send your current setup and one real example of the flow you need. We'll tell you whether it can be done and what it would take.
