Trustpilot + Shopify integration

  • Reviews

Connecting Trustpilot to Shopify comes down to three decisions: which data moves, which system owns it, and whether an existing connector is enough.

Describe your setup ↗

What Trustpilot is

Trustpilot collects public reviews of a business and its products. Its TrustScore is a trust signal buyers often check before a large purchase.

How we would approach Trustpilot with Shopify

A rating that sits in a footer does little. We set up invitations so reviews keep coming, then place the TrustScore where a buyer hesitates: near the price, in the cart, at the delivery promise. If the store uses the old Trustpilot app, we move it to the new one and rebuild its settings.

What the work involves

  • Invitations timed to reach customers after delivery
  • TrustScore and review widgets placed on product and cart pages
  • Product and service reviews set up separately where needed
  • Migration from the legacy Trustpilot app

Ways to connect Trustpilot and Shopify

  • Existing app

    Trustpilot Reviews (Shopify app)

Trustpilot's app sends automated invitations and adds widgets through the theme editor. A free plan includes a limited number of invitations per month.

Where these projects go wrong

  • Invitations sent before the order arrives, which invites complaints about delivery.
  • Widgets only in the footer, where nobody makes a decision.
  • The new app installed but invitation settings not rebuilt; they don't carry over from the legacy app.

Our experience

We haven't delivered a Trustpilot project for a client yet. This page is how we would approach one, and we check access and platform limits before quoting.

Questions

Where should the Trustpilot widget go?
Where buyers hesitate: near the price and add-to-cart on product pages, and in the cart. A store with good reviews and none of them visible at that point is wasting them.
We used the old Trustpilot app. What changes?
Trustpilot rebuilt the app. You reconnect your Trustpilot account and set up invitations and widgets again, then remove the old app.

Before we scope the work

  • Which data or customer journey needs to connect, and which system owns it?
  • What access, plan features or API permissions are available?
  • Does an existing connector cover the requirement, including failures and updates?
  • Who will maintain the connection, and how will you know it is working?

Send your current setup and one real example of the flow you need. We'll tell you whether it can be done and what it would take.
