Shopify POS integration

What Shopify POS can do for your store, where it stops, and how we set it up.
Describe your setup ↗What Shopify POS is
Shopify POS is Shopify's point-of-sale app for selling in person. It uses the same products, customers and stock as the online store.
How Ecom Majesty works with Shopify POS
We start with what happens in the shop: taking payment, returns of online orders, collecting online orders, moving stock between locations. Then we set up locations, stock and staff permissions to match, and test the cross-channel cases that cause trouble, such as returning an online order in store.
What we configure
- Locations and stock set up so online and in-store share one pool
- Buy online, pick up in store set up and tested
- Returns and exchanges across channels tested
- Staff roles and permissions per location
Ways to set it up
Where these projects go wrong
- Online orders sold from stock that's on a shop floor in another city.
- Returns of online orders in store that don't update stock or refunds properly.
- Staff with admin access they don't need.
Our experience
We haven't delivered a Shopify POS project for a client yet. This page is how we would approach one, and we check access and platform limits before quoting.
Questions
- Can online and in-store share stock?
- Yes. Shopify POS uses the same inventory, by location. Set up which locations fulfil online orders.
Before we scope the work
- Which data or customer journey needs to connect, and which system owns it?
- What access, plan features or API permissions are available?
- Does an existing connector cover the requirement, including failures and updates?
- Who will maintain the connection, and how will you know it is working?
Send your current setup and one real example of the flow you need. We'll tell you whether it can be done and what it would take.
