Nosto is a commerce experience platform. On Shopify it is best known for personalised product recommendations driven by visitor behaviour.

How we would approach Nosto with Shopify

Nosto adds recommendation blocks across the store on install. More blocks isn't better: each one competes for attention. We keep the placements that help a buyer decide or add to the order, style them to the theme, and, where traffic allows, test them against a version without.

Where these projects go wrong

• Every default block left on, crowding product pages.
• Recommendations of out-of-stock or irrelevant products.
• Low traffic, so recommendations stay generic.

Do we have enough traffic for Nosto?

Recommendations improve with more traffic. Smaller stores may get more from well-curated complementary products set by hand.
