CommerceHub (Rithum) + Shopify integration
- Marketplace
- OMS
Connecting CommerceHub (Rithum) to Shopify comes down to three decisions: which data moves, which system owns it, and whether an existing connector is enough.
Describe your setup ↗What CommerceHub (Rithum) is
CommerceHub is now part of Rithum, formed from CommerceHub, ChannelAdvisor and Dsco. It runs marketplace, dropship and order operations between brands, retailers and suppliers.
How we would approach CommerceHub (Rithum) with Shopify
Start with direction: is Rithum feeding your Shopify store, or is Shopify one more channel Rithum manages? Rithum's Shopify connection pushes product data and stock into Shopify and pulls paid orders out, so Rithum becomes the source of truth for the catalogue. We map that against how your team works today, and fill the gaps (manual collections, images, data that should come from Shopify) with configuration or custom code.
What the work involves
- A decision on which system owns products, stock and orders
- Mapping of Rithum products and variations to Shopify
- Order, refund, cancellation and tracking flows tested end to end
- Alerts when an order or stock update fails
Ways to connect CommerceHub (Rithum) and Shopify
Where these projects go wrong
- Product data flows one way, from Rithum to Shopify. Teams that edit products in Shopify lose those edits.
- Products are added to smart collections only, not manual ones.
- Only paid orders are imported, so payment methods that capture later need checking.
- Images must be hosted by Rithum or another host, not uploaded in Shopify.
Our experience
We haven't delivered a CommerceHub (Rithum) project for a client yet. This page is how we would approach one, and we check access and platform limits before quoting.
Questions
- Is CommerceHub the same as Rithum?
- Yes. CommerceHub, ChannelAdvisor and Dsco now operate under the Rithum brand.
- Can Shopify stay the source of our product data?
- Not with Rithum's standard connection, which sends product data to Shopify but doesn't import it. If Shopify must own products, that needs custom work or a different setup.
- Is Rithum right for a small Shopify store?
- Rithum is aimed at businesses with dedicated e-commerce operations and is priced by quote. For a single store, simpler tools are usually enough.
Before we scope the work
- Which data or customer journey needs to connect, and which system owns it?
- What access, plan features or API permissions are available?
- Does an existing connector cover the requirement, including failures and updates?
- Who will maintain the connection, and how will you know it is working?
Send your current setup and one real example of the flow you need. We'll tell you whether it can be done and what it would take.
